(Romans 14:19 NIV) "Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification."
(1 Thessalonians 5:11 NIV) "Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing."
(Hebrews 10:25 NIV) "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching."
(1 Corinthians 14:12 NIV) "So it is with you. Since you are eager to have spiritual gifts, try to excel in gifts that build up the church."
The “E” in H.E.A.R.T. stands for Edification. Love is more than a feeling. It is an action. It is a determined commitment. Godly lovers work at ways to build one another up. Words spoken at the right moment… notes left in special places… cards received in the mail… flowers just for fun. Actions like these can help us feel loved, wanted, and needed. Don’t worry about giving your lover “a big head”. There is enough negative junk in this cruel world to keep the best of us drained out and humble. Encouraging words are in such short supply. What we all need is that special someone who will refill our emotional tanks. What we need is someone who will build us up, not tear us down. Let that someone be you. Edify the people you love. -- Friar Tuck’s Word of the Day
