H.E.A.R.T. of the Matter - Staying On Track

February 9

(Song of Songs 2:4 NIV) "He has taken me to the banquet hall, and his banner over me is love."

(Philippians 2:2 NIV) "Make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose."

The basic unit of civilization is the family. Marriage is foundational to the welfare of our nation. Neglect the foundation, and eventually the house will fall… the nation will crumble. Marriage is also like a train. It runs on two tracks -- commitment and communication. Remove either track and you get a train wreck. Without commitment, love remains lightweight and flighty. “I’m out of here” will be heard more often than, “I’m here to stay.” Without communication, relationships can get side-tracked and come off the rails as we listen to competing messages and go in different directions. Don’t let your marriage be derailed. Stay committed and stay in communication. Both tracks must continue to go in the same direction if we want to end up at a common destination. -- Friar Tuck’s Word of the Day
