(1 Samuel 10:6 NIV) "The Spirit of the Lord will come upon you in power, and you will prophesy with them; and you will be changed into a different person."
(Mark 1:17 NIV) ""Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men.""
(Matthew 18:3 NIV) "And he said: "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."
(2 Peter 3:18 NIV) "But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen."
God is the Great Changer. Change is one of the coolest things about life, but it is also one of the most uncomfortable things. Very few of us relish change. In fact, some of us are downright resistant to it. We say, "God loves me just the way I am." That is true, but God also loves us far too much to leave us the way He found us. God changes us because God is the Changer. God's intent beyond salvation is transformation. He wants us to become less childish, while becoming more childlike, and there is a big difference between the two. Jesus called fishermen and changed them into “fishers of men.” They had fished for survival, but now they would fish for souls. They had fished for a living, but now they would fish for the Lord. The Lord’s intentions have not changed. If God is not changing you, it is not God that you are serving. -- Friar Tuck’s Word of the Day
